Remarks by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the LGBT Pride Reception
PBBM: Thank you. Thank you. Maraming salamat. Sino โyung emcee diyan? Father? Para akong tumanda. [laughter]
Anyway, ang katotohan is that alam niyo, nakatira po kami doon sa kabila. Nandoon pa kami sa kabila ng Pasig River naririnig ko na โyung ingay dito. [cheers and applause]
Sabi ko, mukhang may masayang nangyayari over there so kailangan sumama. [cheers and applause]
Of course, our First Ladyโฆ I have to apologize for gatecrashing your party, but I am happy that you are all here. Welcome to the Palace. [applause] And youโre all bloody fabulous by the way.
So, thank you. I just wanted to say hello and to know that โ you know we in the Philippines ay ang habol lang naman talaga natin is that everybody is treated not for any other thing, not for race, not for creed, not for orientation, but just as Filipinos. And that this government, thatโs what itโs trying to do.
But of course, we have โ there are manyโฆ Iโm sure the First Lady Liza is even better briefed on the legal issues that impact upon your community.
And Iโm sure again, as long as we stay true to the idea that basta Pinoy, Pinoy โyan eh. Wala ng ano โyan. No questions asked. Thatโs it. We should all be treated the same. And thatโs what we are continuing to try to do.
We, in the Philippines, hindi naman tayo masyadong ano.
Kayaโt thatโs the principle that we follow with this administration and with this government.
So, Iโm sorry to interrupt but thank you very much. I just wanted to say hello. [applause]
โ END โ
