Opening Statement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. During the Bilateral Meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki
Your Excellency Karol Nawrocki and the esteemed members of your delegation here in the Philippines.
Your visit marks a significant milestone in the long-standing friendship between the Philippines and Poland.
It is the first time that we have the honor to host a Polish head of state in our country.
Your visit is a natural progression in our relations which have gained remarkable momentum over the past decade.
Our cooperation now spans many, many areas which we might refer to us non-traditional areas such as security and defense, trade and investment, science and technology, food security, tourism, labor, academic and cultural exchanges, and certainly collaboration in regional and multinational fora towards upholding the rule of law in international relations.
In our meeting today, we look forward to discussing the priority areas for partnership between our two countries, as well as opportunities to contribute to stronger cooperation between Europe and Southeast Asia towards advancing our shared goals.
We likewise look forward to exchanging views on key international issues of mutual interest.
Your Excellency, once again, a very warm welcome to Manila.
I look forward to a constructive and meaningful exchange between our delegations this afternoon.
